WiRED International's Honorary Board is an interdisciplinary group of extraordinary individuals who are committed to our mission of sharing critical medical information with impoverished communities worldwide.
As director of the Arizona Cancer Center and regents professor of medicine, pharmacology, nutritional science, and public health at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, David S. Alberts, M.D., brings a wealth of medical expertise, with research emphasis on prevention and treatment of diseases including cancers of the breast, colon, ovary and skin.
Emmy Award-winning actor Michael Constantine, who has appeared in some of television's most highly acclaimed productions, including Homicide: Life on the Streets, Perry Mason, The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Twilight Zone, is perhaps best known these days for his role in My Big Fat Greek Wedding; he recently contributed his enormous talents to a WiRED International video (click here to watch the video).
As founder and co-director of Claremont Graduate School's Quality of Life Research Center, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi brings vast expertise and research contributions in the areas of positive psychology, creativity and innovation, managing flow, and the study and potential of human strengths such as optimism, intrinsic motivation, and responsibility.
Western University of Health Science's Founding President Philip Pumerantz, Ph.D., who is believed to be the longest-serving university president in the United States, significantly enriches our organization with his leadership skills, vast medical knowledge, and life philosophy: "The discipline of learning. The art of caring."
Talented television, stage and voice actress, Elmarie Wendel, adds tremendous creative experience to our organization. Best known for her role as Gina in the George Lopez how and as Mrs. Dubcek in 3rd Rock From the Sun, she has also appeared on and off Broadway, worked as a jazz singer and, most recently, voiced Great Aunt Grizelda in Dr. Seuss' The Lorax.
Colburn S. Wilbur is a trustee and former president of The David and Lucile Packard Foundation, where he served as CEO for 23 years; his rich knowledge of philanthropy and grantmaking and his experience as a trusted advisor is of great benefit to our organization.
