WiRED Expands and Updates W-HELP e-Library
BY ALLISON KOZICHAROW; EDITED BY BERNICE BORN
WiRED International’s Health Education Learning Portal (W-HELP e-library) continues to grow in new and exciting ways.
Our e-library allows physicians and nurses, patients, community health workers and others in underserved regions to address the prevention and treatment of both infectious and non-communicable diseases.
Not only do we create and revise modules, but we now develop complete series of modules that provide a full scope and depth of coverage of key health topics. For instance, our module collections include topics such as diabetes, cancer, anatomy, HIV and women’s health. Our team of medical writers is currently updating 17 modules on women’s health. Some of WiRED’s most popular single modules cover such diverse health concerns as hypertension, smoking cessation, alcohol abuse, arthritis and stroke.
At the World Heart Federation Congress this spring in Melbourne, Australia, WiRED will release a special 10-part series for nurses on echocardiography. This series is written by pediatric cardiologists in Australia and in the United Kingdom in partnership with WiRED.
W-HELP modules are available globally and distributed free of charge to people in the world’s remote locations by way of flash drives and other portable storage media. The expansion of our W-HELP e-library enables WiRED to stay true to our mission of delivering health education to isolated communities globally.
While these educational modules are created largely for those in underserved regions, we welcome people anywhere to browse the online library and take a look at topics that might be of interest.
