A Visit Worth Our Time
Written by a St. John's CHIC Volunteer
Edited by Christine Scivicque

Six Pastors from a Pentecostal church attended a Faith Based Leaders seminar at St. John's Community Center and the client support staff managed to mobilize them to visit CHIC. The pastors learnt about STDS, HIV/AIDS and were really amazed at the effects of the disease on the human race.

They urged the CHIC staff to visit people in their area, since some feel they are too holy to be infected with HIV. The pastors challenged the staff to organize themselves and visit their church with computers and CD's so as to let their parishioners see, know and believe that HIV/AIDS is a reality.

One of the pastors said that religious leaders would unite and preach to their congregations about the killer diseases HIV/AIDS/STDs and visit the CHIC center for more information. The pastors were worried after realizing that both believers and non-believers could be infected with the virus.
