WiRED International partners with the American Federation of Teachers to bring advanced educational resources to West Africa

WiRED's Director, Gary Selnow, will soon visit the Ahmadiyya Muslim Secondary School in Freetown, Sierra Leone. He will lead a team of technical experts who will install a Computer Information Center in the school. In addition, they will train the teachers how to use computers in their daily lesson plans. This project, sponsored by the American Federation of Teachers, is one component of a new U.S. - Sierra Leone partnership. The Education for Development and Democracy Initiative is designed to promote cross-cultural understanding among faculty, students, and administrators.

WIRED International looks forward to its collaboration with the American Federation of Teachers and is grateful to the Sierra Leone Minister of Labour and Industrial Relations and Social Security, the Honorable Alpha O. Timbo, for his support of this educational project.
