Chet, Val, and Emily Bardo
They are a very close family, so it is only natural that they would seek a volunteer opportunity that enabled them to work together. As
administrative volunteers for WiRED, 12-year old Emily is learning the value of community service through working with her parents.
Chet is Chief Ranger in the Bay Area District for the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation. Val is a maintenance
assistant with the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation.
Barbara Berry
With an interest in volunteering, Barbara Berry came to WiRED after reading about the organization through SFSU's alumni magazine.
She has a Masters degree from SFSU in Educational Technology, and she is currently Director of Learning and Performance at a local
multimedia company. Barbara is completing writing assignments for WiRED. back to top
Tamar Draper
Tamar Draper was a student in Professor Gary Selnow's Business Communications course at San Francisco State University. She recently
graduated with her second Bachelor's degree in Management from SFSU, after obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Architecture
from the University of California, Berkeley in 1999. She is currently a paralegal at a Novato, CA law firm, with plans to begin an
MBA program in January of 2003. back to top
Siobhan Geary
Hailing from Sacramento, Siobhan Geary first learned about WiRED at a wine-tasting at Grgich Winery. With a background
in neurosurgery and critical care, she is currently a nurse specializing in pediatric cardiology. She earned her Masters degree at UCSF.
Aside from her job, Siobhan has a variety of interests and talents which she hopes can be put to good use while working with WiRED.

Wilma Lee
Wilma comes to WiRED through the Library Science Program at SJSU, where she is pursuing her Masters in Library and Information Science.
Prior to that, she was on the Dean’s List and graduated Magna Cum Laude from SFSU with a B.A. in Psychology. Presently working as a Library
Assistant at the San Bruno Public Library, Wilma has extensive experience working in libraries, and also boasts a solid knowledge on computers.
She is currently designing and developing the index for WiRED’s medical e-library. back to top
Brian Jacobson
Brian Jacobson has joined WiRED to assist with the development and implementation of a public relations strategy. Until recently, Brian
was Director, Marketing and Sales for an import, wholesale business dealing in interior design accessories from Asia and Latin America.
Beginning with the original business plan, he managed development and implementation of annual marketing plans, press relations, and
sales support materials. He is currently adapting his writing and communication skills at the San Francisco State University Technical
and Professional Writing program. Brian graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English
and from The Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management with a Masters of International Management degree. back to top
Carol Mackay
As Accounting Manager with a company in Southern California, Carol was searching for a way to give back to the community that would
also fit into her busy lifestyle. The timing was perfect, as WiRED had a need for accounting and financial expertise when it
incorporated as a 501(c)(3) in May 2000. Since that time, Carol has served as WiRED's accountant and has validated the financial
integrity of the organization. Carol earned a bachelor's degree in accounting and a teaching certificate in elementary education.

Ivana Naeymi-Rad
Ivana came to WiRED through The Volunteer Center of San Francisco. Ivana was sure that she could find extra hours during the week in
addition to her schoolwork, and she had a desire to assist others. She now serves as an administrative volunteer for WiRED, assisting
with the cataloging of the CD-Rom Medical Library, updating the WiRED website and some variousweb research. Ivana is also earning her
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a minor in Business Administration at the University of San Francisco. back to top
Susan Park
Susan Park recently moved from New York to San Francisco, and is WiRED's new graphic designer. She graduated with a Bachelor of
Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Graphic Design from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1995. She continued on to the Cranbrook
Academy of Art in Michigan, where she earned her Master of Fine Arts degree in 1999. Susan is currently working for herself,
and joined WiRED because she felt that it was a worthy cause. back to top
Alfred Stansbury
Alfred is currently conducting writing and research for WiRED. In addition to earning both his B.A. and M.A. in Art History at UC Riverside,
Alfred also possesses a technical writing certificate from the Webster Institute, a teaching certificate from Western Washington University,
and an "Internet Ph.D. from the Computer College of Silicon Valley in Redwood City. He has demonstrated a wide range of skills, ranging
between his six years of experience in technical writing and twelve years in educational task analysis, instructional design, and
curriculum planning. back to top
Bess Touma
Serving as Development Director, Bess manages WiRED's fundraising activities. She earned a bachelor's degree from Michigan State
University and a master's degree from the University of Detroit. She is a graduate of The Management Program at Rice University's Jesse
H. Jones Graduate School of Administration and is one of 5,000 individuals who have earned the National Society of Fundraising
Executives CFRE certification. back to top
Vincent Tseng
Currently writing and doing funding research for WiRED, Vince came to the organization through the Volunteer Center of SF
after searching for opportunities to put his technical and marketing skills to use. At present, he works as a product manager for an
Internet company. Vince received his BA in English from Northwestern University, and is looking to apply to business schools this Fall.
In the future, he hopes to start a non-profit agency to find innovative uses for technology in community development, either domestically
or in developing nations. back to top
Kim Willians
Kim Williams has joined WiRED as a grantwriter. She brings to us her experience in family social services, with a focus on
children's advocacy issues. Kim earned her BA in Sociology from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. back to top
Barbara Yates
Barbara was already on her way to Kenya to do volunteer work when her daughter, enrolled in one of Dr. Selnow's university classes,
told her about WiRED’s work in Kenya. They consequently met in Nairobi and Barbara volunteered her services as a medical consultant
for the Community Health Information Centers in Kenya. Barbara earned a B.A. in nursing and a secondary teaching credential with
supplemental teaching in Introductory Health Science. back to top
Garry Young
Earning his B.S. in Business Administration from SF State, he also came to WiRED as a volunteer after hearing about it in SFSU's alumni
magazine. Garry is currently working for a network consulting company in the East Bay as a Territory Sales Manager, with duties revolving
around sales, account management, and proposals. At the moment, he is doing funding research and writing for WiRED.

Marsha Zarco
Marsha is currently a full-time student at SFSU. She is hoping to earn her B.A. in Psychology in the Fall of 2003 and has plans to
pursue a Masters Degree shortly thereafter. In the meantime, with a lot of free time and a passion for writing, Marsha decided to lend
her skills to WiRED after hearing of the organization through the Volunteer Center of San Francisco.

Heather Zacks
Coming to WiRED from the Volunteer Center of SF, Heather is lending her office and research experience by assisting with the creation of
the medical e-library index. She has also recently earned her Bachelors Degree in International Relations from San Francisco State.

Tihomir Zivic
As a Croatian government official, Tihomir (Tiho) assisted Executive Director Gary Selnow in WiRED's early work in Eastern Slavonia.
Tiho was intrigued by the power of information technology, and soon brought the Osijek community together to support WiRED in providing
Information Access Centers in 13 Croatian middle and high schools. Tiho remains one of WiRED's most dedicated international volunteers.
He holds a Bachelors degree in English and German Literature and a Masters degree in American Studies. After studying for one semester
at San Francisco State University, Tiho is back in Croatia completing his doctorate in Contemporary American Novel at the University of
Zagreb. back to top
